The SMART Forensics Programme has been working with countries in the region to establish national early warning systems. Since September 2022, the SMART Forensics Programme has organised national consultative dialogues on early warning in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand, as well as follow-up meetings with Malaysia and Indonesia.

The Indonesian early warning system is managed by the National Narcotics Board (BNN), which acts as the main focal point in collecting, analysing, and enriching information provided by national stakeholders.
