November 2017 – Taiwan Province of China: Clandestine synthetic drug laboratory dismantled

New Taipei City Investigation Department of the Ministry of Justice Investigation Bureau dismantled an illicit synthetic drug manufacture facility, producing 3-Methoxy-4-methylamphetamine (MMA). A total of 15 kg of MMA and unknown amount of precursor chemicals were seized at the scene, and three people were arrested. The arrestees confessed the drug was sold at night clubs, and precursor chemicals were obtained from mainland China.

November 2017 – Indonesia: Customs seized ecstasy tablets originating from the Netherlands

On 2 November, 2017, Indonesian Customs Officers in Padang, West Sumatra, inspected four packages, shipped from the Netherlands. Their inspection led to seizures of 4.67 grams and 214 “ecstasy” tablets. The Indonesian Customs conducted a controlled delivery, and arrested an Indonesian national.

November 2017 – Hong Kong, China: Joint operation with Australia against drug trafficking

During 16 – 29 October, 2017, the Hong Kong Customs and the Australian Border Force teamed up to target drug trafficking attempts between the two by air mail. A total of 14 drug trafficking attempts from Hong Kong, China, to Australia were detected, which resulted in seizures of 30 kg of various drugs, including khat leaves, mephedrone, and gamma-Butyrolactone (GBL).
